Hey, I tried to register for your newsletter and your site yells at me that I’ve been banned. It seems that too many attempts have been made by me. One is too many? What’s up?
    Madison

And now when I try to send this, it tells me I’ve already sent it too many times.
Check your site out and make sure it’s functioning properly.
I’d like to be part of it, but

    1. Matthew Warnock says:

      Hey Madison,
Not sure what happened, this is the first I’ve ever heard of this issue with the newsletter, other people were able to register around the same time you tried no problem.

Do you have another email address you could try? Maybe it just doesn’t recognize yours for some weird reason. If you can’t get it to work, just let me know. I can send you the emails each week myself not a problem.

  4. Russ Hanchin says:

  8. Bill GOUGH says:

    Hi Matt,
I am a 67 year old “green as grass” amateur who would like to learn how to play some jazz chords and be able to do some basic comping. Would these email lessons be too advanced for me? I have your 251 chords app and am trying to learn something from it but don’t know how or where to start.
    Bill

    1. Matthew Warnock says:

      Hi Bill

Thanks for checking out the site and the app, hope you are enjoying both.

Check out this page, it is a good intro do nice sounding jazz chords that aren’t too difficult to get under your fingers.

  9. Geechnyc says:

Hi Matt, I’m working through your Beginner’s Guide to get a better sense of your ‘systematic’ approach to teaching, before getting into the other materials (apart from some of the irresistible bebop scale material) as I really dig your site: great resources, with clear explanations! Already I’m learning from your suggestion to combine m7 arpeggios with Dorian scale practice: very cool, and very helpful.

    1. Matt Warnock says:

Thanks, glad you are digging the material, have fun with it!

  10. Faithful says:

Hi matt, thanks for all the information, Just thaat i‘m having a tough time knowing how 2 start…the lessons here seem 2 complex 4 me…can you be of any help?. Thanks

    1. Matt Warnock says:

Hey, try just starting with the first lesson in the free ebook from this page. When that is easy and comfortable then move on. Start small and build up from there, that’s the best way to do it.

  11. cliff says:

sorry,do you have lessons pdf forms on how to sight read in jazz, or is it the same as the conventional one in music generally ?
